Bridge, Boardwalk & Beach Crossover Construction
Pedestrian bridges, marsh boardwalks and beach crossovers built on driven piles — for parks, communities, historic sites and towns.
Boardwalk construction that disappears into the landscape
A good boardwalk feels light on the land and solid underfoot. BluTide has built the Seabrook Island beach boardwalk, the Middleton Place bridge, the Willtown bridge and boardwalks through marsh and maritime forest for communities and parks.

What owners say
I have used BluTide Marine for two projects in the last year and have been very pleased with both outcomes. BluTide’s ability to produce, manage and maintain schedule, cost, quality, attention to detail as well as communication and problem solve are some of their strengths.
Frequently asked questions
Do boardwalks over marsh need permits?
Yes. In South Carolina, structures in the tidal critical area require SCDES (formerly SCDHEC) OCRM critical area permits and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers authorizations. We build to permit conditions and help owners through the process.
What materials do you use for boardwalks?
Marine-grade treated pilings and framing with treated, hardwood or composite decking, depending on budget, traffic and maintenance goals.
Can you build a beach crossover for our community?
Yes. See our beach crossover guide and contact us with your site.
